I just found out that I have a roommate. He is a quiet, introverted, unassuming sort of fellow. In fact, when anybody drops by the house, you could "toss" it and never see him....he doesn't like company. He moved in some time ago, and yet I myself only realized last night that he was even there.
There is a snake somewhere in my basement. I call him Bartholemew Gustace Perelli, Barty for short. I have no idea what kind he is, but he left a dry snakeskin hanging down the wall yesterday, which is how I found out that he was living with me. Sweet dreams to all you who are scared to death of snakes. :)

holy crap! snakes suck man...i have no idea where we'll be in the san diego area, but mission bay is close to a lot of things...and close to the areas we like. I applied for a job with the county of San Diego. Maybe they'll so much as call or write me...who knows?
my bet is it's a garter snake. we'd occasionally get them in the basement back home. you should capture him.
and put him in an aquarium.
with some sticks.
and some leaves and grass
to recreate what he's used to. cheers . . ..
scottie, this is MUCH bigger than any garter snake I have ever seen. If it hadn't been lacking rattles, I would have thought it to be a medium sized rattlesnake. :)
I'm a sick snake loving kind of guy, although I know way beyond a shadow of a doubt that one will never get to live with us. Jenni loves snakes to, extremely dead ones. (Yes, not just dead, extremely dead) Don't really know how big garter's get, but would be cool to catch him and give him a home, assuming that catching him wouldn't involve trips to the er for antidotes and the like. Cheers!
I def. would not be sleeping in that room if I found a snake skin there. Hey, you never post any pictures.
